George came to visit the studio, along with his mum of course, and he was a gorgeous sleepy little guy for the whole of his session.
His cousin had been to visit more than five years ago and was apparently a lot less settled (so I’m told, I don’t remember so she can’t have been that bad!) so there was a bit of trepidation from his mum prior to his session that he would be the same. Well he was a chilled out little guy who gave us lots of opportunity to move and pose him pretty much as we wanted.
There can often be a bit of parental anxiety before a session about how their new arrival will be for their photo shoot. The first thing to say is that they are not normally super settled for the entirety of their session – waking up, needing food and cuddles is all perfectly normal and accounted for in the time that we have together. If they sleep all the time, great – but it doesn’t happen very often. Secondly, I’ve been photographing newborns for a really long time and I don’t think I can think of a session where were haven’t got any images at all so the best advice that I can give you is to put aside your worries. It will all be fine.
